Boojfam Culture

Things have come a long way for us since we first opened all the way back in ‘07, but our core principles of inclusiveness, ride-or-die loyalty and genuine passion for what we do hasn’t changed a bit. There’s a reason why our staff are known as the Boojfam, and once you’re in, you’re Boojfam for life.

Employee assistance

Our people are at the very core of everything that we do, and while our teams work hard we also make sure to take care of one another. Our Employee Assistance Programme gives every team member round-the-clock access to the support of counsellors, wellness coaches and a wealth of information about managing mental and physical health.

Don’t just take our word for it, see what just some of our amazing team members have to say about their roles below:

Boojum is a very progressive and open place to work. In four years, and with the support of my Area Manager Susan, and the whole management team, I’ve progressed from crew, to supervisor, assistant manager, and now general manager of our Cork store. From our brilliant, diverse crew to our wonderful fun mix of customers and Boojum Addicts, no two days are ever the same - just the way we like it.

Emily O’Brien Kavanagh General Manager (Cork)

I absolutely love working for Boojum. I have felt so lucky to be able to progress and have had amazing support in every role. I also love it because of the friendships you make along the way, your colleagues really become like family, and it’s so nice to work for a company who really cares about their staff.

Aimee McMullan General Manager (Dublin)

My favourite thing about working for Boojum is definitely the people I work alongside. A bunch of professionals, the best in the industry at what they do, that I learn from them every day. It is a company that makes me feel respected and valued that motivates me to do my job to the best of my ability.

Kelly Waide Accounts Payable Manager

Working for Boojum has been an incredible opportunity for me. I started when I was 18 as a crew member and have been given amazing opportunities to receive training and promotions with full support from management along every step of the way. Boojum invests time in people and works closely with all staff members at all levels to ensure they are fulfilled in their jobs and have room for growth and progression at all levels.

Liz Cathcart General Manager (Belfast)

Training & Development

Just like any great burrito, great employees deserve time, care and attention. Our focus is on providing careers and not just jobs, so we reward loyalty, hard work and energy with excellent training and career development opportunities.

Climbing the ladder

We place a strong focus on progression, and in fact 70% of our general managers have worked their way up from crew-level positions. Better yet? Every single one of our kitchen managers, assistant managers and supervisors have been developed from crew roles.

We Mix it up

The backbone of our central support team is also made up of a strong mix of experienced team members who started their careers rolling burritos on the line, but who have since grown into roles in HR, finance, marketing and more.

All round diversity

Our diversity and dedication to getting the right people into the right roles is supported by stringent and anonymous recruitment practices, while we also work closely with organisations including Business for Love Equality and NOW Group to actively help support people into employment who might otherwise find it difficult.
